Jeremy Segall, MA, RDT, LCAT, FPCC is the inaugural System Chief Wellness Officer at NYC Health + Hospitals, the largest municipal public healthcare system in the nation. He currently oversees the human experience continuum for the entire enterprise, including employee well-being response efforts and engagement strategy, governing the system’s wellness programming, person-centered care certification, and care experience portfolios consisting of the system’s customer service values. He coordinated the Healing Education Resilience and Opportunity for New York’s Frontline Workforce (HERO-NY) Taskforce bringing together the US Department of Defense, VA, USUHS, DOHMH, GNYHA, and FDNY to create a training series addressing resilience to be adapted for civilian audiences. The HERO-NY training has spread to 43 countries, across 5 continents, and has trained over 120,000+ global healthcare workers.

A Licensed Creative Arts Therapist and an executive coach in private practice he has been a featured speaker at New York University, The New School, Hunter College, Harvard, Modern Healthcare’s Mental Health Summit, Metro Health & Medical Preparedness Coalition, the Schwartz Center’s Compassion in Action Series, Vocera Humanize Health Series, Hardwiring Resiliency conference, Healthcare Burnout Symposium, United Hospital Fund, Corporate Wellness Institute, Patient Experience Transformation Assembly, the Caring Greatly podcast, and Press Ganey’s Workforce Well-being Collaborative and Human Experience conferences. He recently led strategic quality improvement projects across NYC H+H’s eleven acute care hospitals overseeing transformation for the Value Based Payment Quality Improvement Program attaining 100% of the $300M incentivized repayment opportunities.

Previously on faculty at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, Weitzman Institute, SUNY Downstate, Greater New York Hospital Association, and the Healthcare Association of New York State he is an America’s Essential Hospitals’ Leadership Fellow, Planetree International Fellow of Person-Centered Care practice, an Extended DISC professional, is Lean certified, and a TeamSTEPPS Advanced Master Trainer.

He won two international workplace wellness awards, was the 2023 America’s Essential Hospitals’ Gage Award Honorable Mention in Quality Improvement for care experience, his wellness program was identified by the Joint Commission as a “best practice,” and has published multiple articles and a book chapter on wellness and equity.
