Manuel António Oliveira de Carvalho is a dedicated and value-driven professional with an extensive background in the healthcare and technology sectors. Throughout his career, he has spearheaded numerous projects, notably under organizations such as Sivales, Idealmed SGPS, IGHS, Al Afia, and Babylon Medical Services, leading to the successful commissioning of seven hospital projects. In the GCC region, Manuel played a pivotal role in developing a VIP clinic in the North of Qatar for Qatar Foundation in collaboration with Sidra Hospital in Doha. His contributions extend to projects involving three hospitals in Saudi Arabia, one in the UAE, and a groundbreaking initiative for the first Private University Hospital in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
With over a decade of experience as the Chief Operations Officer at Oman International Hospital, Manuel has demonstrated leadership in managing tertiary-level private hospitals. His role as the Delegate Administrator Middle East and International Projects Manager at IGHS involved providing turnkey solutions for hospital development, overseeing conception, project management, and kick-off operations in China, Cape Verde, and Oman.
Manuel’s professional journey includes serving as the Coordinating Director and CEO at Idealmed SGPS, SA, where he managed health services provider groups and coordinated hospital units. As the COO and CIO of SIVALES, SGPS, he played a crucial role in coordinating investments and business model management for the SANFIL Group.
In addition to his healthcare endeavors, Manuel has a strong background in information technologies, having served as Partner/Technical Director at Ferrete & Carvalho, Lda. His expertise extends to architecture, microelectronics, and automation, with roles as Managing Partner at Umdê, Lda, and BNC, Lda. Manuel’s educational journey began with a Physics Engineering Degree from Coimbra University in 1991, followed by various roles in academia, military service, and diverse training and managerial positions.
